Frequently asked questions
Before you ask
Straight answers to what clients ask us most - what we build, what we don't take on, how long it takes and how to start.
About the company
- What does STOLMAR do?
- STOLMAR is a visual merchandising production house with over 30 years of experience. We design, produce, and install window displays, POS campaigns, exhibition stands, pop-up stores, custom furniture, and event scenography. The entire process - concept, prototype, production, installation - runs under one roof at our own facility in northern Poland.
- What services does STOLMAR offer?
- We work across three disciplines. POS Campaigns & Visual Merchandising: window displays and seasonal in-store campaigns. Retail Spaces & Exhibitions: pop-ups, trade fair stands, museum exhibitions, custom furniture. Scenography & Events: event and film scenography, props, temporary brand spaces. Every project runs end-to-end - design, prototype, production, installation.
- Where is STOLMAR's production facility?
- Our facility is in Rumia, near Gdańsk in northern Poland. Design, prototyping, production, and finishing all happen in the same place - no scattered subcontractors. From there we manage installation logistics across Poland and Europe.
- Which brands has STOLMAR worked with?
- We work with LPP Group, delivering window and in-store campaigns for Reserved, Cropp, Medicine, Mohito, and Esotiq. We built scenography for CROPP, an exhibition for the Gdynia City Museum, and the European Jamboree 2020 stage design. We have also worked for well-known luxury brands through agency partners - a significant share of that work is covered by confidentiality agreements, which is why we do not name them.
Production capabilities
- What production technologies does STOLMAR have in-house?
- All production happens in-house: CNC milling, joinery, metal and plastics fabrication, laser cutting, a dust-free paint shop, HP Latex large-format printing, and a farm of 14 FDM and SLA 3D printers. We combine these with handcraft: papier-mâché, textile techniques, upholstery, preserved moss, felt, and leather.
- Can STOLMAR roll out campaigns to hundreds of stores at once?
- Yes - this is our specialty. We deploy seasonal POS campaigns simultaneously across dozens to hundreds of stores while keeping every unit identical. Serial production, quality control, and rollout logistics all happen in one facility, which lets us meet the fixed timing windows of fashion seasons.
- Does STOLMAR deliver projects outside Poland?
- Yes. We install across Europe - including Berlin, Düsseldorf, Hamburg, Frankfurt, Munich, Vienna, Prague, Paris, and London. We run multi-city campaigns: one production run, coordinated logistics, and simultaneous installation across multiple locations within a defined retail season window.
- Does STOLMAR ship products abroad?
- Yes. We have been delivering builds to European markets - and beyond Europe - for many years. International logistics is a standing part of our work, not an exception. We handle packing, freight, documentation, and delivery scheduling against the client's installation window, including shipments to multiple locations at once.
Scope
- What does STOLMAR not do?
- We don't take on jobs that consist solely of applying vinyl film to glass - window wrapping alone is not a display, and we don't handle those enquiries. We also don't provide warehousing or storage of displays between seasons. Our focus is designing and building physical display structures.
- Does STOLMAR handle printing and window graphics?
- Yes, but as part of a larger build. We run our own print operation - HP Latex large-format printing, plotted lettering and graphics for glass - and use it as one component of a display project. We don't accept commissions where vinyl application to a window is the only deliverable.
- Does STOLMAR store displays between seasons?
- No. We don't offer warehousing or storage of completed displays after a campaign ends. Elements are handed over to the client after installation or dismantling. If a build is meant to be reused, we account for that at the construction stage - designing for repeated assembly and transport.
Process and collaboration
- What does working with STOLMAR look like?
- We start with a brief and concept, build a prototype in our own model shop, define materials and production methods, then manufacture the series and install at target locations. One team and one facility at every stage - no subcontractors scattered across companies, no loss of quality control.
- Can STOLMAR build from a client's existing concept?
- Yes, and it's a common scenario. A client or agency arrives with a finished concept or visualisation, and we translate it into technical terms: selecting materials, structure, and technology, preparing production documentation, and building the real object. We also design from scratch when a client comes with a brief alone.
- Who carries out installations across Europe?
- Smaller European installations are handled by our own crews - the same people who know the structure from the production floor. For large, multi-location projects we work with trusted local subcontractors, under our coordination and following our installation documentation.
- Who does STOLMAR work with?
- With marketing, creative, and event agencies, with cultural institutions, and directly with brands. Agencies and retail space operators commission production and installation on behalf of their clients, including premium brands whose names we don't disclose. Museums and cultural institutions commission exhibition builds. Project scale ranges from a single installation to campaigns across hundreds of locations.
Lead times
- How long does a window display take to produce?
- A single window display project typically takes 1–4 weeks from concept approval. Timing depends on structural complexity, finishing technology, and material availability. Simple, repeatable builds can move faster - we confirm the schedule individually at the quotation stage.
- How long does a retail chain campaign take?
- Campaign series typically run 4–12 weeks. Where a project lands in that range depends on the number of locations, structural complexity, and the number of variants. The timeline covers prototyping, approval, serial production, logistics, and installation. Plan seasonal campaigns against the upper end of that range.
Confidentiality
- Does STOLMAR work under NDA?
- Yes. Discretion is part of our offer, not a limitation. A significant share of our premium brand work is delivered under confidentiality agreements - we publish neither client names nor photographs of the finished builds. Clients requiring full confidentiality receive an NDA-safe portfolio from us.
- Why doesn't STOLMAR show some of its work?
- Because that's the agreement. Luxury brands and the agencies acting for them require their production partner not to communicate the collaboration, and we treat that as a condition of trust rather than an obstacle. We show non-confidential work publicly; the rest we discuss in person, within the limits of the agreement.
Materials and quotes
- Does STOLMAR use sustainable materials?
- Yes. We hold FSC certification and have experience designing PVC-free solutions. We advise on material choices against a client's environmental requirements - from certified-source timber to UV-resistant eco-solvent HP Latex printing. We design structures so they can be assembled and reused more than once.
- How do I request a quote from STOLMAR?
- Email info@stolmar.co with the project in three points: type of build, number of locations, target deadline. We reply with clarifying questions or an initial estimate. If you already have a concept or visualisation, attach it - it shortens the technical scoping stage.
